How Custom Orders Work

Thanks for thinking of us for a custom piece.

Tricia has been painting ceramics for thirty-five years, and she still paints every piece herself. Customers come back to us year after year, often for the same family, as the children grow up and the occasions change.

Our current lead time is 13 to 15 weeks.

We know that's a long time to ask, particularly now, when most things turn up in two days. There are three reasons for it. We have a lot of orders. We don't keep pre-painted pieces on hand, so yours starts blank and is painted specifically for you. And Tricia paints all of them, in the order they come in.

What we make is mostly for birthdays, weddings, christenings, Christmas — the days people mark together. Those tend to be planned well ahead, and we'd rather take the time and get it right than rush something you'll have on the table for years.

Sketches

Because of demand, we don't send sketches as standard — Tricia paints from the details you give us at checkout, so please do check them carefully. If you'd like to see a sketch before painting begins, we can arrange it for an additional fee. Just get in touch.

If you need it sooner

Add Jump the Queue to your order and we'll get it to you within 15 business days, or by the date you specify, whichever comes first. Please note that JTQ pricing is dynamic based on demand at the moment.

For Christmas orders, Jump the Queue guarantees delivery before Christmas.
